Quality Reviewer Volunteer Description
Quality Reviewer Volunteer Responsibilities:
- Performs a quality review of returns prepared by volunteer tax preparers for accuracy and completeness.
- Prepares tax returns as needed depending on site volume.
- Informs clients about other services available through the Atlanta Prosperity Campaign and its partners.
Quality Reviewer Volunteer Qualifications:Quality Reviewers are REQUIRED to complete the Advanced Level Tax Preparer Training Course, but may register for any additional training courses as well. Webinar and In-class training course opportunities are available.
- VITA Volunteer tax preparer for at least 2 years.
- Complete all training and certification requirements of Tax Preperar position.
- Complete Quality Reviewer Self-Study Module
- Pass an IRS-certification examthrough the Advanced level. This exam is open-book and untimed.
- Strong computer skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Attention to detail
- Ability to be flexible with volunteer hours (availability is on weekdays, weeknights, and weekends)
We have sites located across metro Atlanta. You will have the opportunity to select the site most convenient to you. We require a minimum of 15 volunteer hours during the tax season.
In order to devote more time to hands-on examples during class, ALL Tax Preparer Training Courses have a required self-study training module to be completed PRIOR to attending the in-class training session.
Certification is NOT required prior to training. However, if you would like to take the certification test and/or have completed training, please click the following links for instructions and accessing the certification test and the Practice Lab software to aid in practice problems and testing.
