The Atlanta Prosperity Campaign

The Atlanta Prosperity Campaign seeks to broaden wealth and reduce economic inequalities for working families in Metro-Atlanta. It accomplishes this by connecting low- to moderate-income working families to existing economic benefits available to them, including the two federal benefits that can help the most in lifting a family out of poverty:

Objectives of the Atlanta Prosperity Campaign

  • Empower low-income and low-wealth residents of Metro-Atlanta to increase their earnings, build assets and move toward self-sufficiency.
  • Integrate and improve existing economic and educational support systems that promote long-term family self-sufficiency and food security.
  • Broaden wealth and reduce economic inequalities for working families in Atlanta.
  • Promote greater collaboration among social service providers, government agencies, and the business community.

Impact on the Community

  • Working families achieve a level of stability that allows them to escape the cycle of poverty permanently.
  • Working families are empowered to increase earnings, build assets, and move toward self-sufficiency, which in turn helps to transform neighborhoods and stabilize communities.
  • More money is put into the pockets of working families, which brings more dollars into the Atlanta economy.
  • Increased collaboration among the non-profit, public and private sectors.
