Interpreter Volunteer Description

This is a seasonal position (January – April). We have had an overwhleming response to our call for volunteers for 2010 Tax Season. We are unable to accept anymore volunteers for this position.

Many of our sites have clients that are Limited English Proficiency. Sites need interpreters to assist in the tax preparation service.

Interpreter Volunteer Responsibilities:

  • Provide oral interpretation assistance to clients.
  • Language most needed is Spanish with limited sites in needing Portuguese, Chinese, Cantonese, Vietnamese, French, and other languages as requested. 

Interpreter Volunteer Qualifications:

  • Proficient in the language, but do not need a specialized financial vocabulary.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
